What exactly is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is based on the premise that the mind is composed of various “parts”, and that healing involves bringing balance and leadership to these diverse subpersonalities. Therapy focuses on identifying and interacting with these parts- each with their own perspectives, feelings, and memories- to heal and transform negative patterns. By fostering an inner environment of curiosity, compassion, and connectedness, individuals can better manage their emotions and behaviors. Our therapists use IFS to help clients access self-leadership and personal growth. This approach is effective for treating a range of issues, and is flexible and collaborative.
